Overview

Shortly provides two types of announcement bars to display promotions and messages on your Shopify landing pages:

Discount Announcement Bar – tied to discount links
Custom Announcement Bar – fully customizable, specific to individual links

This guide explains the key differences and how to set them up.

1. Discount Announcement Bar

How to Use:

Add your Landing Page URL
Add a Custom Alias


Choose the Discount option:

Use a Shopify coupon you've already created


Or set a percentage or fixed amount discount


Click Create


Copy the link and open it in your browser



🔎 A discount announcement bar will appear on the landing page showing the applied discount.

Customization Options

Go to App Settings > General


Scroll to the Announcement Bar section


✅ Enable / Disable
- Toggle the switch to activate or deactivate the bar
- Optional: check the box to show the discounted price in the bar

⏳ Countdown Time (Minutes)
- Add a countdown timer to create urgency
- Min: 0 | Max: 10 retries

📝 Coupon Bar Text
- Customize the message displayed

🎨 Color Picker
- Match the bar's color with your brand

📍 Position
- Choose to display the bar on the top or bottom of the page

💾 Save Changes
- Click Update to apply your settings

⚠️ This bar is applied globally to all discount links.

2. Custom Announcement Bar

How to Use:

During link creation, enable Custom Announcement Bar


Customize the following:

Background color

Text color

Icon

Position (top or bottom)

Main text and subtext

Add a timer

Click Create


Copy the link and test it
